The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a fun exploration of the galaxy with some cameos. You might be a little surprised by what this movie has in store for you. The movie was released on April 1, 2026 but the movie was officially announced on March 10, 2024. The theme was revealed during a Nintendo Direct event on September 12, 2025.
The movies did lack the speed I expected for a fast-paced action. It took too long to get to the main focus point, which was about how Bowser Jr. and his father attempted to rule the world together. The movie added so many non-relatable mini scenes where it would just show someone falling in the background or an ice cream falling on the ground by a kid, which I found unnecessary and had nothing to do with what was going on with the show. If they would have avoided all the non-important tasks and given more time to other characters which could have made the movie be a bit faster then just adding something random.
However, the movies did a good job of showing a lot of emotion, especially when Bowser Jr. thought his dad was gone for good. The emotions shown by Bowser made him a good guy and in some ways, due to his genuine care for Mario and got got a huge sense where Bowser show this stress emotion when, Bowser Jr. started to shoot at Mario and Luigi aircraft could see how Bowse was trying to stop his son from potentially hunting the brothers.
The one thing that I would say I did not like was how Princess Rosalina was hardly shown as much as she should have been. Mostly she shows up in the last few scenes but the magical powers shown in the beginning of the movie and her talent could have been shown more to us.
Overall, the movie was OK. I would recommend anyone who likes some action cartoon movies to go and watch The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Especially if already into Mario.
